消費者向けのGenAIサービスや、ビジネスの生産性を高めるスイートプロダクトに組み込まれた新し いチーム向けのサービスが非常に利用しやすいことが、GenAIに対するこの巨大な新しい関心の波の 主要な推進力になっている。さらに、AIテクノロジーサービスの多くは、予測型AIや解釈型AIのユー スケース向けにクラウドベースでパッケージ化されていることも主要な特徴である しかしこの利用しやすさには、明確なリスクもある。積極的に関与する経営リーダー(多数存在す る)と、好奇心旺盛な従業員チームを持つ企業では、数十から数百に及ぶ小規模なAIユースケースの 実験、POC(Proof of Concept:概念検証)、試作を実施できる。2023年8月に実施されたIDCの調 査「GenAI ARC Survey」では、企業の29%が「シャドーAI」の調査や導入をすでに経験していること が明らかになったii。企業が、AIの探求(予測型AI、解釈型AI、GenAIのいずれを中心に展開している かを問わず)を、より広範なビジネス目標やニーズに照らし合わせて位置づけることができなけれ ば、POCや試作を繰り返すばかりで大規模な成果を得られないまま終わることになりかねない。   DXという側面からAIに対する投資を見ると、新たな視点を得られる AI投資に関してこうした重要なコンテキストを提供するため、企業はワークフローやビジネスプロセ スのデジタル化を通じてビジネス価値を探求すべきである。これは、他の種類のワークフローやタス クの自動化テクノロジーに対する投資と並行して、補完的に行う必要がある。この関連性は、投資目 的にも表れている。IDCが2024年1月に実施した調査「FERS Survey」で、GenAIの投資におけるビジ ネス上の焦点についてたずねたところ、企業は平均して計画された投資の33%を、従業員の生産性向 上に向けたタスクの自動化に充てていると回答している。さらに38%は、財務、IT、サプライチェー ン、販売、カスタマーサービスなどの機能全体のビジネス成果を向上させるために、ビジネスプロセ スの自動化に重点を置いているi 。予測型AIと解釈型AIのユースケースを用いて、企業はビジネスプロ セスの改善にさらに注力する傾向にある。
